A few of you have been asking about cheaper alternatives to photoshop for editing your photos. Last week I did a wee blog about Gimp which I think is a cracking piece of software and and its FREE.

Hey guys, really loving this photosense thing, great idea.
I'm loving the post about alternatives to photo shop, personally i think PS is over priced for what it is so gonna download Gimp and give it a go.

A friend also recommended Chocoflop, haven't had a look at it yet but hear is a link:

Hi Reece, thanks for the post. had a look at chocoflop briefly. It looks like a great piece of for all you Mac users, it seems PC users are out of luck. Another down side is chocoflop does not work on the snow leopard and the developer has stopped further development on it. He instead recommends PixelMator which i believe is a paid for app. Will look into it later.

Photoshop express is the little brother of photoshop and does most things well. Is web based so accessible anywhere.

Flauntr is another free web based alternative

I dont have the time to attempt to use photoshop at the moment so I simply use Infanview (for Infranview.com) for initial cropping, adjusting the horizontals/verticals, any primitive colour correction necessary + sharpening and adding copyright text and finally for resizing for the web where necessary. Works for me.

Will give infranview.com a look and have have a go, let you all know how I get on.
